THE STORY BEHIND INDIAN WEDDING HELPER

I was never that girl who had been planning her wedding since she was five. I hadn't thought about outfits, mandaps, flowers and entrance songs. I had been more focused on finding the groom - my rajkumar, my prince. So when that day finally happened - the day he proposed, I was so happy and so excited to marry this amazing guy. And then it sank in - I would have to plan a wedding. Roll in the big black cloud over my head. While I worked in marketing, I was not an event planner. In fact, I hated events. In my experience, if something could go wrong, it would go wrong. I was dreading this. It got worse when we started discussing dates with the family. Those black clouds were filling up with heavy rain - the stress of it all was evident on our faces, we were told.

And so, I started small – with venues, which I later learnt, is not small – it's huge. Perhaps the most important part of your wedding. I researched, I googled, I created excel spreadsheets. I like excel spreadsheets and I started to get excited. I poured everything into our wedding. I wanted our wedding to reflect who we were – a fun-loving, easy-going, simple and loved up couple. It was one of the most frustrating, exciting, stressful and enjoyable experiences of my life.

This is a combination of my google searches, my research, my lessons learned, my secrets, my regrets, my planning tools – everything you need to know all in one site. Because planning a wedding should be so much fun – and if I can make it any easier for brides and grooms out there through this site, then my mission is accomplished.
